Ben Wortley is the founder of AB Projects, a residential renovation and extension builder serving the Blue Mountains and Western Sydney.

A licensed builder, qualified carpenter and university graduate, Ben combines practical construction experience with a structured, systems-based approach to project delivery.

Over the past six years, he has built a reputation for clear communication, careful planning and delivering high-quality renovations that are well managed from start to finish.

His focus is not simply on building quality projects, but on creating a renovation experience that gives clients confidence throughout the entire process.

A Different Approach to Building

Ben’s approach is simple:

Do things properly from the start.

He believes most problems on a building project don’t come from the work itself — they come from poor planning, unclear communication, or rushed decisions.

That’s why AB Projects places a strong emphasis on:

• getting the scope right upfront

• identifying risks early

• maintaining clear communication throughout the build

The goal is to reduce stress for clients and create a smoother, more predictable project.

More Than Just the Finished Product

For Ben, quality is not just about how a project looks at the end.

It’s about the entire experience.

From the first conversation through to handover, he aims to create a process that is:

• organised

• transparent

• easy to navigate

Clients should feel informed, supported, and confident at every stage.

Building Spaces That Work for Real Life

Ben is passionate about creating homes that genuinely improve how people live.

Whether it’s opening up a living area, adding space for a growing family, or upgrading key parts of a home, the focus is always on practical, well-considered outcomes — not just aesthetics.

Local Knowledge That Matters

Based in the Blue Mountains, Ben has strong experience working with the conditions and constraints common to the area, including:

• sloping blocks

• bushfire requirements

• access challenges

• council processes

This local knowledge helps projects run more smoothly and avoids unnecessary complications.

A Disciplined, Reliable Builder

Ben leads AB Projects with a focus on:

• consistency

• accountability

• attention to detail

He works closely with his team and trades to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, with a strong emphasis on doing things properly rather than cutting corners.
